Her creative endeavors include work with Ogilvy & Mather – where she served as Creative Director for General Foods, Lever Brothers, S.C. Johnson, American Express, and Cunard Lines advertising. In 1989, she became president of the New York office of Earle Palmer Brown, where she is still Chairman Emeritus.
Maas is best known for her direction of the “I Love New York” program, which changed the image of New York City and revitalized its tourism economy. She also co-authored How to Advertise, which has sold over 150,000 copies and been translated into 17 languages. She has made several television and online appearances, and has dozens of interviews in newspapers and magazines. She is listed among Who’s Who in America.

Art & Copy
Where: Lindsay Street Hall, 901 Lindsay Street
What:Audiences have gone mad for the hit TV show MAD MEN, inspiring everything from fashion trends to a renewed interest in the art of advertising. Join us for a Mad-Men themed reception followed by a screening of ART & COPY, a powerful documentary about advertising and inspiration that reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time -- people who have profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry. Exploding forth from advertising's "creative revolution" of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation: "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?," "Got Milk," "Think Different," and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them. Don’t miss this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion.
After the film, members of the local advertising professional community will lead a discussion.
Time: 6:00 PM: Reception / 7:00 PM: Film screening and Discussion
Cost: $15 (includes hors d'oeuvres and first drink) - space is limited. Buy your ticket through the link below.

The “Governor’s Award” is presented annually at the Leadership Convention. This award is also known as “The Volunteer of the Year” award because it goes to an individual from a District 7 club who epitomizes the perfect volunteer in their local community. The Governor’s Award recognizes individuals who are heavily involved on a volunteer basis in their community, region, and or state.
This award is totally coordinated and funded by former District Governors.
Former Governors, current Regional Directors, Club Presidents, and District Officers may submit nominations for this award.
Governor George Waldron first commissioned the mirrored, beveled glass award. The traditional style of the award is mirrored glass, with the winner's name engraved on it, so that the recipient may look at it and see the reflection of the perfect volunteer. Former winners, former Governors, and all incumbent District Officers and Club Presidents are not eligible for the award. The award was purposefully established to honor the work of a "volunteer" who is not currently an Officer/President.
In addition to the winner's award, a duplicate award hangs in the District 7 office. A mirrored plate is added to the award each year with the winner's name.
The Governors' Award was established in October 1985, under the direction of former Governor George Waldron. A list of previous winners is included annually in the District directory and on the District website. Last year’s winner Saundra Lane of AAF Baton Rouge.
To nominate someone for this award please send statements of support indicating their volunteer activities to the Governor’s Award Chairman, Kathy Jacobus by close of business on Friday, July 1, 2011.

What is the Media Auction and how does it work? People interested in promoting their business come to the auction and bid on a range of media packages from all the media outlets: television, cable TV, radio, print (newspaper and magazine) and online. This is a great way to let the community know about your business or service and how it can benefit them. There are large packages up for bid and small packages for the business wanting to try a new medium or promote their small business. The media bidder/buyer gets free entry into the event and can walk away with deals that can be almost 70% off the regular retail price!
Want proof? Click here to see the great results of last years' 2009 Media Auction. It's amazing what great buys the bidders received!!
Not interested in the media for sale? We also have a Silent Auction with everything from jewelry to tickets to sporting events, to getaways. Plus, then there's the Wine Tasting!!!
